Project Administration - the key
management area .
Project administration is the key control point in Ops Manager for operations data. Projects and tasks are created and deactivated here. The project lead can assign/de-assign staff. Task budgets and values are controlled here. Each task is assigned a type, which behind the scenes hold a GL account code to facilitate the interface with accounting data. Additionally, one project can have many task types such as a product sale, a fixed price customization and a time and materials consulting task. Flexibility and control are key. An interface to Microsoft Project allows the project lead to managed their Gant and Pert charts in project then upload their data bask to Ops manager through a web interface. The security controls remain the same so that the project lead can continue to manage their projects in the tools of choice. |
